7 Things I Learned While Working Fashion Week

I did it.  I worked fashion week.  What a dream come true! I purchased a ticket, hopped on a bus labeled NYC as its destination, caught the train to 55 West 17th Street, walked right into heaven at Manufacture New York building and introduced myself as Candace Woods.  I did, however, manage to get lost while traveling a few blocks. Closet Control

I believe a person’s closet tells a lot about them.  Whether it’s neat and organized or messy and chaotic, it has a lot to do with how you look when you leave your home.  When I moved into my apartment, the very first thing I did was organize my closet.  I couldn’t sleep that night until everything, and I mean everything, was hung up and put in its rightful place.  Then I looked in my closet and realized it still looked messy. Something was off. It was the hangers! Over the years, I had managed to accidentally collect all kinds…

Five Reasons You Should Look Good for NYE

For several weeks, I’ve been ranting to my friends and family the importance of dressing well for New Year’s Eve.  Some of them think I’m being over-the-top, while others happen to agree.  This year I’ve managed to not only find myself something to wear early (surprisingly), but I’ve also been able to help others put together NYE ‘fits (yes!). Why did I cry?  Not because I was sad or scared.  I cried because…

Toe Drag: A Major Summer Offense

“Toe-drag”, “toe overhang”, “toe spill”, “skrimping”, “too small sandals”, however you choose to reference toes that hang over sandals, is your decision. But we’ve got to put a stop to this plaguing epidemic. It needs to be addressed. My friends (hey @E_Nikki, @MissLaydeee and @MyRoscoe10!!), asked me to write about it.. and they have every right to be concerned. It’s a new season and ladies all over are taking advantage of the breathtakingly sexy open toe shoe. And why shouldn’t we?! They’re daring, sexy, funky and feminine; and for all you exercise freaks, they make the calves looks like a…
